PTO Purpose 

  • The PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Golden Spike Elementary by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers. 

PTO Mission Statement

  • Support the education Golden Spike students by fostering relationships among parents and school by volunteering and helping provide learning tools, resources, and opportunities in the school's efforts to ensure that all students will learn at grade level or higher.

Facts about Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs)

  • ​A PTO is an independent organization. Decisions are made with no state or national overhead of how money is used or what we can do like a PTA.

  •  PTOs operate under their own bylaws

  • PTOs can either charge no dues at all,  or keep whatever dues they do charge at their school. Golden Spike PTO chooses not to collect dues.

Golden Spike PTO is a Non-Profit Organization

  • Golden Spike PTO is a non-profit organization and has a EIN number

When are Golden Spike PTO meetings?

  • PTO Board Meetings are the first Thursday of the month at 9:00 AM.

  • PTO General Meetings are the first Fridays of the month at 9:00 AM in the staff lounge. * All are welcome to attend. Children are welcome at meetings.
